Hi Kari, thank you for joining us today.  I have my coffee ready and I am so excited to be celebrating with you.  Now that you have several books published, I would love to know how this process has grown and changed you. Would you share with us?

I wasn’t sure when I started writing if I would write Christian fiction. I was pretty sure I wasn’t good enough to do so. I didn’t read my Bible enough, I wasn’t pious enough in my interactions with strangers. I was terrified of being asked questions I couldn’t answer. That is why my very first published novel, To Honor and Cherish is somewhat light on the Christian elements included. It’s because I knew what the Lord wanted me to do and I fought it.

That wasn’t the case for the second book, For Richer or Poorer. I let the Lord help me decide just what kind of people the hero and heroine would be. At first, I thought the novel would be just about Elizabeth’s struggle to correct some pretty nasty behaviors. I wrote the whole first draft and as I was reading, the Lord clued me in to little pieces of Elizabeth’s personality I had missed when I wrote it. You see, the Lord knew all along what the novel was truly about, even if I didn’t realize it at first.

After reading through it and adding in edits, I realized that while the story was about learning to become a new creation in Christ, the main point of the novel is forgiveness. Both the kind we ask of the Lord for our sins and the kind we give to one another. The Lord opened my eyes and changed what was an okay story, into one that still brings tears to my eyes when I read the last chapter, and I’ve read it over twenty times.

Now, I know my place as a Christian author. The truth is, you don’t have to know every answer and you shouldn’t be pious, because then you aren’t approachable. And, of course I’m not good enough. I never will be and that’s okay too.

I am so glad that you allowed God to work thru you and your work as an Christian Author! We all have felt or do feel inadequate to represent Our Heavenly Father and to be obident to Him. Still We go on and God knows exactly who needs to hear what and when, and that is where you and other Autos come in.
