Special Post from DebbieLynne Costello
MaryLu Tyndall, Julie Lessman, and me have an exciting 2 1/2 weeks for you! If you missed Wednesday’s posts make sure you go back and check them out. We are stoked about our new releases, so we decided to share our excitement and get you excited as well.
We have phenomenal giveaways on each of our blogs PLUS on top of what each of us are giving away on our own blogs, we are giving away a kindle to one lucky winner. My grand prize is also a kindle so that is 2 chances of winning a kindle plus amazon gift cards, baskets full of book theme items, and so much more. Are you getting excited yet?
First things first–my new release, one of the three reasons for this awesome party!
Shattered Memories is set in 1886 Charleston, South Carolina. A time in our country when the south was still recovering from the Civil War. A time when technology was moving forward and life was beginning to have a few luxuries. A time for South Carolina when their world was shaken to its core–literally.
Charleston was devastated by a 7+ earthquake that could be felt as far away as Alabama, central Ohio, eastern Kentucky, southern Virginia, and western West Virginia. Not a home or business in Charleston would escape without some sort of damage.
Shattered Memories is set during and after the earthquake. I’ve attempted to recreate for my readers what the people of Charleston experienced. You’ll be surprised by some of the reactions of these 19th century residents. I’ve attempted to capture their reactions to this tragedy in my story. People today react much differently than the Charlestonians did in 1886. I’ve used eye witness accounts to bring all this alive for you.
If you read Sword of Forgiveness you might recognize my hero’s last name. Andrew (Drew) Warwick. Drew is a descendant of Royce and Brithwin Warwick. There are a few mentions of the hero and heroine in Sword of Forgiveness so if you’ve read their story and fallen in love with them, hopefully this will bring you fond memories. If you haven’t read their story no worries, you don’t need to in order to understand the connection. But hopefully it will intrigue you enough to want to pick up Sword of Forgiveness and read it too!
Shattered Memories has unrequited love, mystery, suspense, romance and a villain you’ll love to hate.
My hubby was reading Shattered Memories and he came in the room where I was working and said, “I can’t stand Lloyd!” I laughed and replied, “Good than I’m doing it right. You aren’t supposed to like him.” He turned to walk away and replied over his shoulder, “The scary thing is this is all coming out of your head.”
Men! LOL.
Be sure to stop by with each new post for more entries and fun!
About the Book
The Charleston earthquake has left destruction like nothing Doctor Andrew Warwick has ever seen. On a desperate mission to find the lady who owns his heart, he frantically searches through the rubble. He finds her injured and lifeless. After she regains consciousness, the doctor’s hopes are quickly dashed as he realizes she doesn’t remember him. Things only get worse when he discovers she believes she’s still engaged to the abusive scoundrel, Lloyd Pratt. Now Drew is on a race with the wedding clock to either help her remember or win her heart again before she marries the wrong man.
Waking in a makeshift hospital, Olivia Macqueen finds herself recovering from a head injury. With amnesia stealing a year of her memories, she has trouble discerning between lies and truth. When her memories start returning in bits and pieces, she must keep up the charade of amnesia until she can find out the truth behind the embezzlement of her family’s business while evading the danger lurking around her.
