On this beautiful cool fall morning, I am grabbing my pumpkin spice coffee and sitting down with Toni Shiloh to learn more about her and her books! I invite you to pull up a chair, let me pour you a cup of coffee and join our chat!

Do you like to listen to music while you write?

I love to listen to music while I write. When I was younger I wished I could sing. Thankfully, I’m aware of my limitations….no one should be subjected to that torture. 😉 I played an instrument for about eight years and wish I could still be part of the music process, so I listen to music while I write. It fuels me.

If you could live in any time period, what would it be?

The 50s! No lie, I get that answer every time I take one of those test. I love the outfits. Men were dapper and ladies were ladies. Granted, I don’t like to wear heels so I’m not sure how that would work. Maybe rolled up jeans and flats will have to be my standard everyday outfit.

Do you like to travel?

Yes! I love it. I was in the military for six years and it allowed me to see many places I wouldn’t have. I was stationed in England for 2 years and took the opportunity to travel to other countries. I went to Belgium, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. I would love to go back to Europe and visit again. I joke to my family and tell them I want to take an eating vacation through Italy. Their food is divine!

I’ve also visited a fair amount of states in our country. California is one of my favorites because the Pacific is simply stunning.

What are your hobbies?

I’m an avid reader. If I’m not writing I probably have a book in my hand. Of course, I do other things as well. I like to play video games with my husband or my son, who often beats me at Fruit Ninja. I also love adult coloring books and watching chick flicks when the men in my house are otherwise occupied.

If you could pick any genre to write in besides your current genre, what would it be?

Speculative fiction. I admit I have a story rolling around in my brain. Only time will tell if it will come into fruition.

Can you tell us about your current work in progress?

I’m working on book two in my Maple Run series. My heroine is a military widow who has to decide if it’s worth it to love again. Unfortunately, she’s not keen on the idea when she discovers the hero is in the Air National Guard.

The first book in the series is currently being edited in the publishing process. Look for it this fall!

Good morning ladies. It appears that I have a lot in common. My husband is the military member in our family having service 7 years active duty in the Air Force another 2 years in the New York Air National Guard and the last 24 in the North CarolinaAir National Guard. If I could go anywhere in the world I would love to go to Italy and meet my husband’s extended family, travel to Tuscany and eat until my heart’s content Looking forward to reading your new book

Janet, you definitely have to go to Italy. I haven’t had the pleasure of traveling to Tuscany but it’s on my bucket list. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

It was SO great to get to know you, Toni! We have a LOT in common.
And if I could go anywhere, I’d have to say Italy. It looks gorgeous in the pictures and I think a Food Vacation is a WONDERFUL idea!! Lol I mean, you’d likely to eat at least 3 times a day so planning your vacation around eating just sounds smart. 😉

I’m glad to see others agree with me. Maybe we should all plan a food vacation together. 🙂

Fun interview! I’m with you on the Pumpkin Spice coffee, needing to listen to music, and being an avid reader. If I could go anywhere in the world, I’d love to go to Sweden, because that’s where some of my family are from and where there are still family that I’ve never met. I love the pics I have seen of Sweden.

Sweden would be awesome! I’ll have to go when it’s not cold. I’m allergic to winter. 😉

Butter pecan spiced coffee? How have I not heard of this?
I would love to go to Ireland as well. It’s one place I missed out on seeing while in England but the pictures look gorgeous.

Toni, I am so glad to know that you have lots of stories running around in your head. You write some of the most beautiful reviews! I look forward to seeing your name in print for quite some time.

I have not travelled extensively, but I would love to travel out to Yellowstone Park, the Grand Canyon, down through Texas, up to Vermont and Maine. I live in the Southeast portion of the country, so I guess I would love to see much more of the USA.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I love writing reviews but I’ve had to slow down to focus on my writing.
I’ve never been to Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon but I would love to. I’m from Texas so I’ve been a few places. 🙂 And I hear Vermont and Maine are gorgeous in the fall.
